MISSIONS CELEBRATE NEW EP WITH SHOW AT THE SATELLITE
JANUARY 3rd WITH BATWINGS CATWINGS
December 18, 2017 (Los Angeles, CA) --
Missions will celebrate their record release on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at The Satellite in Silver Lake along with Batwings Catwings. Missions are an intriguing Los Angeles band that play out regularly and will be touring soon. Influences include the Pixies, Johnny Cash, The Smiths and The Clash.
Missions, who formed in Echo Park in 2013, are Christopher Clark on guitar and lead vocals, Omar Hernandez on vocals and upright bass, and Stephen Obana on drums. Missions deliver an eclectic mix of Western folk and dark wave featuring melodic Smiths-esque riffs with the upright bass holding down the bottom end. The band has been getting airplay on KXLU and has shared the stage with bands like Alyeska, Bang Feather Bang, Gnarvana, and Panthar.
The new self-titled EP features three tracks including 1. "Stay Gone, 2. "Cry on Command," and 3. "Senora." A music video for the track "Stay Gone" was shot out in the desert earlier this year. An online premiere will be announced soon.
The band's first album titled,
This Is the Death of Music, came out in 2015.
