CLEVELAND'S PROTO-PUNK INSTIGATORS HIT THE ROAD TO PROMOTE:
ALBERT AYLER’S GHOSTS LIVE AT THE YELLOW GHETTO
August 17, 2017 (Cleveland, Ohio) – Smog Veil Records announces "The Having a Rave Up with X____X Tour." The band is supporting their latest album titled,
Albert Ayler’s Ghosts Live at the Yellow Ghetto. The record is out now on CD, vinyl LP and digital download formats. The LP version is on blue vinyl and contains liner notes by Byron Coley. As NPR explains "Before the Sex Pistols formed in London, before CBGB opened in New York, Cleveland had the electric eels."
John D Morton formed X__X upon the break up of the electric eels in Cleveland, Ohio in 1978. The New York Times wrote "back in the early 1970s, with only the Stooges and the Velvet Underground as role models, [Morton] and his colleagues turned their youthful alienation into a brazenly experimental, loudly confrontational and proudly antisocial roar that forged a new and distinct style."
The band is John D Morton on guitar, vocals, Theremin, didgeridoo and electric sitar; Andrew Klimeyk on guitar and vocals; Craig Willis Bell (Rocket From The Tombs) on bass; Weasel Walter on drums.
