THE 'MASTER OF DISASTER' DUANE PETERS IS BACK WITH NEW U.S. BOMBS SKATE PUNK OPUS ON SLOPE RECORDS TITLED, ROAD CASE,
WHICH IS SET FOR RELEASE ON BLACK FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2018

November 15, 2018 (Phoenix, AZ) – Slope Records is proud to announce the 'Master of Disaster' Duane Peters is back with a new U.S. Bombs skate punk opus titled, Road Case. The album, available on all formats including colored vinyl, drops on Black Friday, November 23, 2018. Album track "Riot Sirens" has been added to Spotify Political Punk and Punk Unleashed playlists. The record delivers savvy street punk with great lyrics and hook-laden riffs.
The album title, Road Case, refers to the record cover image of a wildly adorned Duane Peters on a motorized scooter/skateboard pulling along a piece of luggage. In addition, it alludes to the fact the U.S. Bombs have been playing shows all over the world for decades and that Duane Peters has earned the title “road warrior.” In 2017, after a long absence from the scene Peters’ announced his newly formed relationship with Slope Records, followed by the release of a Political Crap 7" before putting the band on the road in the summer of 2017.
“It's been twelve-years since we've had a brand-new U.S. Bombs full-length release," Duane Peters declares excitedly "hence, the ‘Case of The Road.’ The band has gone through many members over the last 25 years as an international touring band with no label to call home. We were last seen on A Sailors Grave in ‘06. The problem was us and that was the name of the game until now! Slope Records scooped us up and brushed us off and gave us a warm blanket and a hot meal…basically the chance to write and record something very rad, punk and real. Road Case, our 9th LP has twelve (one per year lost) totally Individually written songs of the here and now! All our 1977 hero/band-influences shine through as always! R.C. is a 40-minute roller coaster ride that makes ya wanna hear it again as soon as the ride ends!”
Duane Peters' incredible career as an innovative professional skateboarder was authenticated when Transworld Skateboarding named him a "Legend" back in 2003. Skate tricks he developed include the "layback grind," the "fakie hang-up" (a.k.a. "Disaster"), and the "loop of death," a full 360-degree rotation in a specially designed loop. He's fronted the U.S. Bombs since 1993 but has also recorded and toured with Political Crap, Exploding Fuckdolls, Die Hunns, Duane Peters Gunfight, and The Great Unwashed.
Road Case was recorded over several months (2017-2018) at Premier Studios in Phoenix, Arizona (Feederz, The Linecutters) and Villain Recording in Phoenix, Arizona (The Father Figures, The Freeze). The record was produced by 007. Executive Producer Tommy Blank says “Working with the Bombs is a learning experience, a party, and an argument all wrapped into one big colorful package. For better or for worse, there is no one in punk rock like Duane Peters today and I am glad to be able to say the Bombs are back!”
The twelve tracks on the album are 1. "Riot Sirens," 2. "Pink Motel," 3. "Fire Lake," 4. "Something To Believe In," 5. "Never Them," 6. "Red Lights," 7. "Refugee," 8. "Hideaway," 9. "Kill Kill Kill," 10. "Barracuda Baby," 11. "A Bomb Story," and 12. "Needles." The band is Duane Peters on vocals, harmonica; Dave Barbee on guitar, backing vocals; Brandon Meunier on guitar, backing vocals; Steve Davis on bass, backing vocals; Phil Barber on drums, backing vocals. The band has toured with punk bands all over the world including Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, as well as playing festivals like Punk Rock Bowling.
A tour planned for 2019 will kick off in Brooklyn on New Years Eve and will include Total Choas as support. The U.S. Bombs will be on the road in a Slope tour bus for these dates. The bus is a 2009 C5500 Duramax Diesel that has been "outfitted with seven bunks, a toilet, plenty of space for merch, gear and Duane’s juicer" the label says in a statement, adding "Tommy Blank [of Phoenix punks band and labelmates The Blankz] will be on the road with the band here and there, as will the entire Slope Records team."
