GUITAR WORLD INTERVIEWS
THUNDERMOTHER’S FILIPPA NÄSSIL
EXPLORING HER JOURNEY
TOURING THROUGHOUT HER PREGANCY
July 19, 2024 (Stockholm, Sweden) – THUNDERMOTHER band founder and lead guitar player Filippa Nässil opens up to Guitar World detailing her experience touring into her third trimester of pregnancy.
“I want people to know you can have it all,” Filippa said to Ellie Rogers at Guitar World. “You don’t have to choose just because this is a difficult job and you’re away for months at a time. I’ve spoken to many people who stopped touring and got normal jobs. I really don’t want to do that, so I’m going to do everything in my power to try and combine the two.” Read the interview HERE.
Filippa also shared her journey with Marisa Torrieri Bloom at Rockmommy who wrote: “Armed with her trusty Lzzy Hale signature Gibson Explorer, Nassil is showing that with a little adjustment, a positive attitude, and an awesome band (including lead vocalist Linnéa Vikström Egg, a mom of two), that pregnancy is super rock n’ roll...She’s also showing that…expectant moms can stay safe and healthy while on tour...”
National parenting publication ROMPER wrote “we spoke with Nässil about what it’s been like to be a literal touring rock star while she prepares for her baby’s arrival in July. (Spoiler: her bandmates are an amazing village.)” Fans can view the story on their popular Instagram account HERE.

Skåne-born guitarist Filippa Nässil laid the foundation for THUNDERMOTHER in late 2009. Originally based in Växjö where she was pursuing her studies, she soon relocated to Stockholm on her quest to assemble a band. Now in 2024, THUNDERMOTHER is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and boasting an impressive track record of successful worldwide tours. THUNDERMOTHER has achieved remarkable success across Europe and holds the distinction of being one of the world’s most active touring bands between 2017 and 2021.
Their last three albums,
Heat Wave,
Heatwave Deluxe Edition and
Black And Gold, were all released on AFM Records, and landed top chart positions across Europe (#6 in Germany, #8 in Sweden, #15 in Switzerland), as well as securing the top spot on the Swedish Hard Rock charts. This level of success did not go unrewarded. Heavy metal icons the SCORPIONS invited the Swedish powerhouse to join them for an epic three month long North American stadium tour. An historic opportunity by all measures. After a successful collaboration, SCORPIONS chose to add THUNDERMOTHER on their European run as well. For 39 shows they performed for over 600,000 spectators all over Europe and North America. KISS invited the band to perform on their official KISS Kruise and they also delivered three performances at Wacken Open Air, and at numerous other festivals and events. THUNDERMOTHER are poised to be the next generation of tour headliners – with more than 2,000 shows under their belt. The band won the prestigious Gaffa Award for “Sweden’s Best Hard Rock Act in 2020,” as well as the European double silver Impala Award, and they enjoy the distinction as the only band performance (out of 40) to rate a five-out-of-five review from “Rocknytt” (Sweden Rock Festival 2023).
THUNDERMOTHER will return to the road in February 2025 for their Goddess of the Road Tour.
