"T is for... September 23rd?"
"Y is for YOU 'cause you know what to do, let's PAARRTTYY!"
Join Sound Experience aboard the Royal Argosy for an evening cruise around Puget Sound in support of environmental education and youth development aboard Adventuress. This event is the kick-off to our annual 29 Dollars, 29 Days: Getting Kids on the Boat campaign.
You'll enjoy a variety of heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, and beer from the Port Townsend Brewing Company. During the evening, Adventuress will be doing what she does best--delivering powerful programs to youth. As our party wouldn't be complete without an appearance by Adventuress, our guests aboard the Royal Argosy will be treated to a "cruise by" our ship as she rests at anchor in Blakely Harbor.
Friday, September 23, 2011 6:30 - 10:00 p.m. Tickets: $49 per person

Girls Take the Helm
Leadership and Sail Training for Young Women
By Elizabeth Becker
In late July, an enthusiastic group of 16 young women, average age 13, boarded Adventuress in Friday Harbor for 3 days of sailing, learning, and exploring. Except for one group of five Girl Scouts who had journeyed all the way from Central Oregon, the girls didn’t know one another. But any hesitance quickly evaporated during the opening circle, lunch, and Watch Group orientations. A sunny afternoon of sailing kept everyone busy hauling on lines, tacking, and taking turns at the helm.
Read the rest of the Girls at the Helm story on our Blog!
Special thanks to support from funder Youth Adventure which subsidized program cost!

"Edmonds to Starboard" Becomes a Wall Mural
In our February e-Newsletter, we shared Joel Patience's beautiful painting "Edmonds to Starboard." The public took notice of his beautiful piece and Joel was awarded wall space by the Edmonds Mural Society to turn his painting into a wall mural.
We just received this photo update from Joel on Wednesday of this week. The mural is finished and it looks STUNNING! You can visit "Edmonds to Starboard" at the corner of Main Street and 4th Avenue West (map)--the entrance to the Edmonds Art Corridor.

Picture of the Month
It's neat to see Adventuress with her old white waterways and Zodiac without her main topmast!
This photo was posted on our Facebook page by Steven K. Roberts. He snapped this photo aboard Adventuress in 2003 while sailing with CARE (Camano Action for Rural Environment), and would like to sail with us again!
