COMEDIAN AARON FREEMAN TO HEAD UP LP ILLINOIS STATE CONVENTION
The Libertarian Party of Illinois (“LP Illinois”) proudly announces that Chicago comedy legend Aaron Freeman will headline an interesting, fun filled convention the weekend of September 21-23 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Des Plaines.
Freeman and his musician/economist partner Rob Kolson reunite for their first performance in over a decade. Freeman and Kolson took Chicago audiences by storm thirty years ago with their hit show, the first Libertarian Musical Comedy, “Do The White Thing”. The show ran for more than three years.
In a political season begging for satire Freeman and Kolson will perform updated selections of their hilarious political/financial comedy including, “It’s a Wonderful Bailout”, Monetary Momma and “We Owe The World.” and will of course take aim at the endless foibles of local politicians. The performance ends with a rousing salute to Libertarians Party presidential candidate Johnson.
“I am very excited about this convention”, said Lupe Diaz, State Chair of LP Illinois. “This being an election year and with the convention in the Chicago area, it will be a great opportunity for attendees to be entertained by a talent well versed in the history and notoriety of Chicago politics”, added Diaz.
The convention kicks off on Friday, September 21st with a performance by comedian Paul Frisbie. Frisbie is a regular at such comedy clubs as: Zanies’, the Improv and the Funny Bone. Saturday will be filled with workshops and presentations by established organizations such as the Illinois Policy Institute, the Heartland Institute and Atlas Liberty. Aaron Freeman will follow dinner on Saturday evening. On Sunday, LP Illinois will hold its annual business meeting.
