IAMLA Restoration Update!
As the restoration of the historic Italian Hall, home of the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles (IAMLA) concludes, the development of the Museum's permanent exhibitions and programming advances. Welcoming 2 million visitors annually, including 300,000 students, the IAMLA will be a 21st century, interactive museum that documents the history
and contributions of Italian Americans in Southern California and the nation. The IAMLA will feature exhibitions and a variety of cultural-educational programming from language classes to film screenings and conferences. "The IAMLA is uniquely positioned to showcase our history to an expansive audience," says Paul Pagnone, the President of the Museum's Board of Directors. "Its location in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles at an important tourist destination will play a critical role in delivering our message."
Built in 1908, the
Italian Hall is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places and is the oldest remaining structure from the city's little Italy.

Taste of Italy 2013 Highlights
Event attendees and the media agree, 2013's Taste of Italy, L.A.'s premiere Italian Food and Wine event, which featured 35 of the region's finest Italian restaurants, over 100 world-class wines and exceptional live entertainment, was the best ever. Located adjacent to the IAMLA in the heart of the city's historic Little Italy, Taste of Italy, the IAMLA's signature event, has become a favorite annual tradition for people of all ages and origins. What are people saying about Taste of Italy 2013?
"This {event} is definitely something special. The warm night, the European feel, the sense of community, amazing food and lots of wine!!! The most interesting part of the evening was the childhood sensation of discovering something you did not know existed.. First Class!
" -Branimir Kvartuc, Communication Director, Office of Councilman Joe Buscaino
"A stupendous event... a venue where in addition to finding authentic Italian food, one discovers an environment where everyone can feel the spirit of what it is being Italian!" - Nancy Zisquit Grando, Chocolatier
