TAnntra Things for Today 🌕
Did y'all notice the micromoon shone just as bright though she had stepped away?
|
By this moon, sustenance that had been stored or that could be found ran low in areas frozen dormant. This brings to mind the commonly low supply of a basic need that has been depleted and denied by oppressive systems. As we reclaim our Selves, we must tend to our cravings and hunger pangs for pause: |

A pause stops activity to make time for witnessing or noticing that is critical for presence. Stepping away from activity also makes time for rest, which is a revolutionary act for many due to societal and historical realities. The more we pause, the more the energy of awareness resonates through our Selves.
Sacred Pause is a presentation within the TAnntra Talks series that will be broadcast via Zoom. The hour will be devoted to the revolutionary power of pause as a pathway to presence and a provider of rest. This virtual call to stop and step away is open to everyone in community, and you’re encouraged to share this space with your circle. Please send anyone interested in participating or witnessing to tinyurl.com/TAnntra-Mailing-List to receive the Zoom login information (and they will receive future e-mails like this).
The Zoom information will be e-mailed an hour prior to the event and is available upon request. |

The next TAnntra Talk will be prerecorded because I will be stepping away for the month of March. The e-mails and posts will still happen because they are part of a ritual of reflection and connection. Ritual can also be a way to bring sacred pause into practice.
A sacred pause is a term of art in tantra that I connect to another very important concept. It is taking a moment to stop before responding, and to me it is also taking a moment to stop according to our natural rhythm. The first is about presence, offering our Selves stillness from which to witness what we are experiencing. The second is about rest, offering our Selves time - that is ours to begin with - from which we experience our wholeness. How do or how could our rituals, however frequent, incorporate these sacred pauses? |

|
The power of a sacred pause is in intention. The deep breath that reaches as much of the body as is available before a reply will reverberate an intention the same as a sabbatical from the labor that does not define you but pays the bills. Still, the time through which the intention reverbs, resounds, and resonates differs between small and large scale stopping and stepping away. We deserve both.
