OPTION – I : How about treating guests to an Afternoon Tea at La Martiniere ? |
|
|
– an eighteenth century monument without any parallel in India, now a most respected educational institute, often referred as ‘The Eaton of East’. A special curated tour of the place, conducted by a special guest who studied here or teaches here, takes about 30 minutes and thereafter the guests settle down for a very exclusive afternoon tea, served in exquisite china with some freshly prepared artisanal tea time goodies. This is the most privileged of the activity that can take place here, while guests are on their last day of the tour on this train.
What we will do ? We will pick up guests from the hotel after lunch, drive to La Martiniere
(5 minutes drive from the hotel and en route to the train station), conduct this exclusive activity for an hour & a half, and then drive to the train station, where the train remains parked
(20 min drive to the train station).

OPTION – II : And how about visiting Muzaffar Ali's Kotwara House ? |
|
|
– Lucknow abode of the great film maker, designer, artist and poet Muzaffar Ali. We get to see the able craftsmen at work for the couture label, ‘Kotwara’, churning out some exquisite Aari, Zardozi and Chikan embroidery at the workshop. Visit the house, that is no less than a living museum of the super talented Raja of Kotwara, enjoy a dance clip from his film over a freshly brewed tea. All this while a curator will explain the local craft, that still is a lifeline of the local economy, you will admire the awesome inherited pieces of décor that decorate the house. If lucky, you get to meet the charismatic Muzaffar Ali and his charming wife, Meera Ali
(if in residence).
What we will do ? We will pick up guests from the hotel after lunch, drive to Kotwara House
(15 min drive from the hotel), conduct this exclusive activity for an hour and then drive to the train station, where the train remains parked
(25 min drive to the train station).
