Ready, set, shop!
Hello Everyone!
We're back! Summer went by so fast, but that means we're on our way this week to see you for our fall sale! During and after the summer competitions, we saw a flood of new and exciting jewelry, both contemporary and traditional syles. We got lots of it! Additionally, three of our artist friends did very well - Alton Bedonie cleaned up with multiple ribbons at Gallup Ceremonial, Mary Tom took a blue ribbon at Santa Fe Indian Market and Nelson Begay took a ribbon for his stunning reversible squash blossom necklace. What's new, you ask? Well, the largest collection of Hopi jewelry we've had for some time, including several major pieces by Roy Talahaftewa. Other new items include a fabulous Golden Hills turquoise necklace by Alton Bedonie , a couple of gorgeous necklaces from MaryTom including a lovely hand-made, hand-hammered bead necklace (picture, right) and a shorter choker style with bright blue turquoise, and a very rare and collectible sculpture bracelet by Alvin Vandever, which has to be seen to be believed (because the pictures at bottom right don't do it justice). We answered requests for Nelson Begay earrings and have three sets for this show. Another request is large men's rings and not only did Alton came through on that front with a few rings in 14-16 sizes but we found others by Stoneweaver's artists too. In all, our ring cases are bulging at the seams after our restocking activities! One artist we've re-established contact with is Albert Nells, and once again we have a couple of this award-winning artist's work. Albert's work, although inspired by traditional symbols, is very linear and geometric which gives it an ultra-modern look with sharp angles and sleek lines. It's like no other work on the market, and we can boast having two stunning bracelets and a pair of earrings at this time. We also have lots of new cuff bracelets and a new style of bangle we haven't seen before - it features repousse' and stamp work, is heavy duty and won't bend easily. Additionally, we just acquired one of the most extensive collections of top-tier artists pieces that we've ever seen in one place! These stunning pieces were collected over a span of at least forty years, possibly more. This means artists whose works are hard to find and highly collectible as well as pieces with extremely high-grade turquoise such as Bisbee, Morenci, Lone Mountain and more. These are just a sampling of the thousands of items we're bringing your way. As always we'll also have a great selection of earrings, rings, Italian sterling silver chains, round omega chokers and more. It may seem early to start Christmas shopping, but September is the perfect time to start shopping early and avoid that last-minute shopping stress in December. We have unique items to fit any budget, from insanely affordable to not-to-miss collector items! |

Carvings, Pottery, Rugs and More
We have a great selection of sandpaintings and have fully restocked the sandpainting boxes everyone loves. Additionally, a new size box has been added for an even bigger selection. It's 7" x 13" size makes it a great addition to your coffee table for hiding all those TV and equipment remotes. All of our sandpaintings are completely handmade, matted, and framed by Navajo artists.
Our kachina selection is strong with an inventory of Hopi carvings. Work from award winning artists, Laurence Dallas, Keith Torres, Raymond Chee, Marlin Pinto and Sterling McRae are on hand. We have a great pair Martha Appleleaf and Carmelita Dunlap, black on black feather pattern pots as well as a gorgeous cream on red plate by Helen Gutierrez, and several much sought-after pots from Bob Lansing. Just in are three Maria Martinez pots from a collection as well as pieces by Phyllis and Marlene Hemlock and Bob Lansing. This collection also contains several great miniature pots and a miniature storyteller.
We have a large selection of Zuni animal fetishes on hand. Many of these carvings are by well known, award winning artists and are crafted from an assortment of stones and organic material. Marvin Toya, from the Jemez Pueblo carved several mid-size pieces that measure in the six to eight inch range and some smaller inexpensive gift sized ones, including eagles, owls, corn maidens and others. A must-see is Florentine Martinez's newest exquisitely carved turquoise sculpture featuring Avanyu/Kolowisi (water serpent) over an incredibly detailed pueblo. We have several other carvings by Florentine including one of the coolest chameleon lizards we have ever seen. Florentine is a multi-award winning Zuni carver, and this masterpiece shows why! There will be something in everyone's price range, so be sure to stop by and see us!
See you there!
