Virtual Energy Conference Focuses on Solutions for Florida Economy, Environment & Consumers
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Powerful solutions are available now to meet energy needs of today and tomorrow. Tapping these solutions will boost environmental quality and economic vitality while helping consumers save energy and be energy secure. The Future Is Now Foundation is hosting a three day Web-based conference on such topics to draw attention to diverse opportunities for Florida’s future.
The Re-Power Florida Virtual Conference, scheduled for April 19 - 22, will be held live through the Internet. The event will address energy issues facing Florida as well as real world options and solutions. Key experts will speak about renewable energy resources … energy efficiency … transportation & alternative fuel vehicles … and green, sustainable communities
The event is FREE-and-open to the public. It includes sessions for general audiences as well as decision-makers with government, business and other organizations.
An outstanding line-up of 35 speakers will address a wide array of timely topics, including top State officials (like State Energy Director, Patrick Sheehan and Florida Solar Energy Center Director, Dr. Jim Fenton) ... national energy pros (like long-time American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy expert, Skip Laitner) ... state-level nonprofits (like the Florida Green Building Coalition) ... regional organizations (like the Space Coast Energy Consortium and Clean Cities Coalition) ... industry officials (solar, electric utilities, transportation, others) ... leading local governments and still others, including State Representative Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda.
