Air Perm
If we know hair chemistry, we should also know that there is a very safe way to perform a perm. First of all we have to determine if you are a candidate for a perm. Once we establish that, we go ahead with the winding and processing. At time of neutralization, if you are ok with it, we send you home with the perm rods on the head and you will sleep with them on. Now I will explain you what is a neutralizer. A neutralizer should be called oxidizer, because it contains H2O2 (Peroxide) with other chemical compounds, and through process of oxidation, it will fix the hair into the new position. In other words, the hair gets oxidized by the oxygen in the peroxide. So, why sending you at home with the rods on? Because the hair would get oxidized by the oxygen in the air. Next day you will be back to the salon for the finishing touch. The hair is healthy shine and natural.
That’s why we call the perm: AIR PERM. A very healthy way to perm hair. Call for your consultation today.
Price to be determined at time of hair auditing

Gone Girl
by Gillian Flynn
Gone Girl tells the story of Nick and Amy Dunne's difficult marriage, which is floundering for several reasons. The first half of the book is told in first person, alternately, by both Nick and Amy; Nick's perspective is from the present, and Amy's from the past by way of journal entries.
The two stories are very different.
On their fifth wedding anniversary, Amy goes missing. Nick becomes a prime suspect in her disappearance for various reasons: he used her money to start a business, increased her life insurance, and seems unemotional on camera and in the news. The police later find boxes of violent pornography in Nick's woodshed, further implicating him.
In the novel's second half, the reader learns Amy and Nick are unreliable narrators. Nick has been having an affair and Amy is alive and hiding, trying to frame Nick for her "death". Her diary is fake, intended to implicate Nick to the police.

CHECK OUT A MASSAGE FOR THE NEW YEAR
In the New Year are you looking for ways to relax? Try a massage. A massage is a natural remedy by touching your body where it hurts. Experts say that a massage, no matter how humble or low-tech it may seem, can be a powerful healer.
Here are descriptions of a few massages:
SWEDISH MASSAGE uses soothing, tapping and kneading strokes to work the entire body, relieving muscle tension and loosening sore joints. Swedish massage therapists use five basic strokes. They are effleurage (stroking); petrissage (muscles are lightly grabbed and lifted); friction (thumbs and fingertips work in deep circles into the thickest part of muscles); tapotement (chopping, beating, and tapping strokes); and vibration (fingers are pressed or flattened firmly on a muscle, then the area is shaken rapidly for a few seconds).
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE targets chronic tension in muscles that lie below the surface of your body. You have five layers of muscle in your back. A Swedish massage will help the first couple of layers, but a deep tissue massage will do more for the muscle underneath. Deep muscle techniques usually involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the grain of the muscles. Massage therapists will use their fingers, thumbs or occasionally even elbows to apply the needed pressure.
SPORTS MASSAGE is designed to help you train better. The techniques are similar to those in Swedish and deep tissue massage, but sports massage has been adapted to meet the athlete’s special needs. Pre-event massage can help warm up muscles and improve circulation before competition, but it can also energize or relax an athlete and help him or her focus on the competition. Post-event massage can help improve recovery.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
New Year’s resolutions are fun to make, but very hard to keep! Each January, many Americans resolve to better themselves in some way. A much smaller percentage of people actually make good on those resolutions. While majorities of people stick to their goals for at least a week, less than half are still on target six months later, a 2002 study found. t's hard to keep up the enthusiasm months later, but it's not impossible. This year, consider picking one of the following resolutions, and stick with it.
1. Lose weight. This is one of the most popular resolutions. You can succeed if you don’t expect results overnight. Don’t look for a quick cure. Plan for bumps along the way. Use a food journal and keep track of what you are eating. Have a support system in place when you get started.
2. Get more sleep. Sleep is more beneficial to your health than you might realize. Lack of sleep has been linked to a greater risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes. Sleep is also important for strengthening memories.
3. Volunteer. We tend to think our own happiness relies on bettering ourselves, but our happiness also increases when we help others. Happiness is good for your health. A 2010 study found that people with positive emotions were about 20% less likely than their gloomier peers to have a heart attack or develop heart disease. Other research suggests that positive emotions can make people more resilient and resourceful.
4. Go back to school. No matter how old you are, heading back to the classroom can help revitalize your career, introduce you to new friends, and even boost your brainpower.. You are gaining a sense of accomplishment by gaining new knowledge.
5. Cut back on alcohol or stop smoking.
Chronic heavy drinking boosts your risk of liver and heart disease, hypertension, stroke, and mental deterioration, and even cancers of the mouth, throat, liver, and breast.
Smoking one of the harder habits to quit. Smoking can lead to a host of health problems. Think about how much healthier you will be and how much money you will save if you quit.
Good luck! Here’s to your health!

Are You Happier Helping Others?
People are serious about their happiness. According to U.S. News & World Report, psychologists used to believe that life satisfaction levels remained generally stable over time. But a study from the University of Illinois suggests that this can shift over the years.
How to be happy seems like the subject of a psychology book, but it's gaining credibility at universities around the country. And yet, more than 200 colleges in the U.S. now offer such classes. Research shows that we should focus less on "stuff" and more on "giving back.
At first, buying or getting “things” feels great at first. But there are only so many “things” you can use. And they don’t have much staying power.
We get accustomed to them.
The New York Times profiled one happiness class at George Mason University where students did something they loved and then performed an act of selflessness.
When the students did things they loved, it was wonderful and exciting, but students were more surprised at how much more gratifying it was to help someone out or volunteer at a shelter.
Conclusion? Taking care of others is good for you!
