Green Budget Blues!
Governor Cuomo dropped the state's
new budget on Tuesday, which will play ping-pong with Trump's
proposed infrastructure plan in 2018 and beyond. What does it say about NYC? Our guest blogger Nisha Swinton, of
Food & Water Watch, helps unpack it all for you.
Check it out.
In other news, de Blasio's announcement last week, that
NYC will divest from fossil fuels and sue Big Oil for damages related to climate change, put the city at the forefront of national climate resistance action.
How is it likely to play out?
And for those of you looking to spice up your weekend, check out our stuffed burrito of an event calendar. There's lots afoot-from
L-Train shenanigans to a chance to
preview Bushwick Inlet Park.
Have a look.
And, as always, a wee quiz at the end of this email seeks your attention. Try it! This week's prize is, a quaffable treasure, from the ever-fabulous
Le Gamin!
So, have a great week, and don't forget to LIKE US on

Welcome to the end of our email, where, like a doctor with a better-than-expected-prognosis, we offer you the chance to win a prize!
Congratulations to last week's winner, Go Greener Sarah Lapinski. Sarah is a costume designer and wardrobe stylist living in Greenpoint, who correctly answered that the plant that grows along Newtown Creek that can be used as a fabric dye is Goldenrod.
All you have to do be a winner like her is answer me this question one (which, if you've read this email, should be a snap):
- What ironically-named town in upstate NY suffered water contamination from plastics manufacture last year?
Send your answer to
jamie@townsquareinc.com, along with your name and anyting else you want us to know about you. Our winner will be selected at random, and published here, next week.
