Huge THANK-YOU's from the Go Green! Greenpoint team
A HUGE THANK-YOU
to everyone who joined us for this year's
GO GREEN! GREENPOINT FESTIVAL!
The weather was supposed to be nice and warm but Mother Nature sent unexpected rain last Saturday. Nonetheless, we had an amazing time with our local community organizations, churches, companies, artisans, crafters, and Greencycle Swap. We had lots of fun activities: music, gymnastic mats, giant bubbles, teepees, soccer, crafts. The new Brooklyn Museum of Science & Art offered its first pop-up: an oobleck exhibit that enticed kids of all ages. State Assemblyman Joe Lentol gave away white spruce trees. CM Steve Levin took a turn on the oobleck runway. BBP Marty Markowitz sent us a Proclamation. What a wonderful way for our community to come together.
Town Square gives a HEARTFELT & SPECIAL THANK-YOU to Kevin Jeffrey, our Brooklyn Parks Commissioner; Nancy Melissas in the district office; Ed Janoff, Shavonne Vyphius, Natalie Sewell, David and the rest of our North Brooklyn parks staff for their invaluable support and help with Go Green! Greenpoint this year. We want to express how utterly GRATEFUL we are to Elaine and Norm Brodsky, Louis Weiner, Manny Jimenez and Pablo Carritinz of CitiStorage for we could not have handled our load-in/out without your help. We thank Rose Li and the marvelous ladies who handled the Greencycle Swap and Maryam Zaringhalam and the terrific crew who created the Museum pop-up. Finally, we thank Kenny Paneto and his Boy Scouts from Brooklyn Troop 26; Brad Anderson and his Cub Scouts of Greenpoint's brand new Pack 7; and all our other volunteers and staffers for helping us throughout the day. So happy to have such wonderful community partners!
Please share your pictures on our FB page! Also, whether you were an exhibitor, vendor or individual festival attendee, please fill out our online survey at http://tinyurl.com/GoGreen2013SURVEY so that we can make next year's Go Green even better for everyone! Thank you again!
