Hello GoGreeners,
It is officially cold outside, and while we bundle up in our coats and boots to rush around the city, what do our feline friends do to keep warm and survive during the winter? There are millions of strays and ferals who share our concrete jungle, read about their survival tactics and how you can help during this freezing season in Critter Corner: Our Feline Friends. Also, learn about the possibilities of outdoor education in Eco-Schools: From Asphalt to Ecosystem, a Renovation of the P.S. 110 Schoolyard - it could be a great idea for your school!
Our featured events this week are Stephen Levin's Waterfront Zoning Certification Info Session this Tuesday (get involved with the development of our neighborhood) and the Photography Scavenger Hunt on Sunday. Find wonderful "Greenspace" events on our online calendar: an eco-art festival, a holiday fun run, a pet adoption event, networking events & a group bike ride are a few this week. So many ways to have fun and get involved in our community! So many ways to make our life greener! Check them all out on the
Go Green BK online calendar.
We want to reiterate that Go Green BK is here to highlight and showcase
your wonderful programs and hard work. With easy-to-submit calendar listings and articles on the website,
www.gogreenbk.org, please make it your very own Green Hub!
See you all around the neighborhood!
Go Green BK!

Eco-Schools: From Asphalt to Ecosystem
This time last year, the Monitor Street Schoolyard was an asphalt lot, surrounded by a chain linked fence and courtyard walls. Today, the lot is filled with pines, blueberry bushes and perennials. To the kids and teachers of P.S. 110, it is their beautiful outdoor classroom.
