Back-to-School Greencycle Swap
Saturday, September 29th, 2018, 12-3 PM
Leonard Library
81 Devoe Street, Brooklyn
Getting ready for school? Gently cleaned items taking up space in your closet? Bring everything over to Greencycle Swap at Leonard Library!
Bring some! Or take some!
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Let's recycle, reuse and reduce.
MEN’S, WOMEN’S & CHILDREN’S CLOTHING, SHOES, BOOKS, TOYS, BICYCLES, PHONES, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS & ELECTRONICS. We will accept electronics until 2 PM. Only cleaned, gently used and working items please. No need to bring anything to take items. Out of consideration for others, we may limit folks to the 1 bag or the number of bags that you've brought to donate to the swap. We do not allow taking donated items to resell. Why? Because all remaining items are donated to local homeless shelters for neighbors truly in need.
We're delighted to partner with Home Life Services which runs five shelters in Brooklyn and Bronx, including one in Greenpoint. Toys, books and children's clothing will be earmarked for their Albemarle Family Residence in East Flatbush; this shelter houses +180 children, ages 5 through 18! Please help these children and families while benefiting our environment.
$10 suggested donation a family to help cover costs. Town Square is a qualified 501(c)(3) not‐for‐profit institution. Your donation will be TAX DEDUCTIBLE to the full extent of the law. For more info, please contact Town Square at 347.559.1410 or
gogreen@townsquareinc.com. We gratefully thank our partners and sponsors: CM Stephen Levin, CM Antonio Reynoso, NYC DYCD, truly awesome Brooklyn Boy Scouts Troop 26, Friends of Leonard Library, Leonard Library and Home Life Services.

Schoolfest 2018
Saturday, October 27th, 2018, 12-4 PM
John Ericsson Middle School 126
424 Leonard Street (Bayard entrance), Brooklyn
Schoolfest is a beloved one-of-a-kind school fair for North Brooklyn families held in the heart of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Parents and students are invited to meet all types of schools from day care through high school (even college) at one place on one day. We'll have public, private, charter, magnet, community, dual language, gifted, etc...who'd have thought that there are so many?
Schoolfest offers a supportive networking and informational experience for parents and exhibitors. Schoolfest allows our neighborhood schools to share new information and projects with each other so that everyone may benefit. Most importantly, Schoolfest understands that parents can often be overwhelmed by school choices and admission processes. Schoolfest helps parents navigate through the confusion so that they can make the best choice for their child’s educational needs. Well known
Joyce Szuflita of New York School Help will present workshops on the bewildering array of public NYC schools and equally perplexing admission processes for PK/K, middle schools and high schools.
