High in Fiji, a Boat to Bagan, and America’s Stonehenge
The new issue of Perceptive Travel is out now, with another set of interesting travel stories to delight and intrigue.
Two of our regular contributors return for this issue. Bruce Northam writes about leaving the beach resorts behind and hiking through the highlands of Fiji. Bruce Olsen last checked in to report on the debauchery at Burning Man, but this time it’s a more cerebral pursuit. He looks into some mysterious stone structures built throughout New England, including "America's Stonehenge."
Back in January when I was in Mexico City, I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Johnston, who wrote an opinionated guide to the city that I highly recommend. He took up my offer to pen a piece for Perceptive Travel when he waded into the travel conundrum known as Myanmar.
Gillian Kendall returns to review travel books, while I write up reviews of new world music CDs on the scene. See it all here: November issue of Perceptive Travel.

3rd Annual Remarkable Photo Contest
First, thanks to everyone who entered last month's newsletter contest. Sue from Palo Alto, California came away with three pairs of ExOfficio Give-N-Go travel underwear in her choice of style and color.
This month we're departing from the usual quiz-oriented giveaway because from November 15 to December 15 we're running our annual Remarkable Photo Contest. We'll be giving away a Casio compact superzoom camera that can take 1,000 photos on a single charge, some stylish travel sunglasses from Tifosi Optics, some secure travel items from Pac-safe, t-shirts, books, and more.
We like to keep things simple and lawyer-free, so there's no admission fee and very few rules. Get your best one or two digital travel photos ready for submission and either watch your e-mail on the 15th or check in on our home page for the contest link.
Our regular newsletter contest will return in December.
