The 2018 XULA Health Disparities Conference is developed to address issues about where people are born; and where they grow, live, work and age. Inequitable systemic policies around social determinants significantly affect individuals in low-income communities and communities of color in the United States. The resilience of these communities is developed through good physical and mental health, social, emotional, and economic well-being, community cohesiveness, and the ability to absorb and rebound in an equitable and positive manner.
We invite you to join us in this discussion focusing on the under-resourced populations with an overrepresentation of disease vulnerabilities; a lack of access to services and health care; and other factors that contribute to the gaps in community resilience, exacerbating poor health outcomes.
