Learning Objectives
By attending this activity, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between the different diseases that have until now been grouped together under the type 1 or 2 diabetes label
- Update therapeutic approaches to renal protection in diabetes
- Use and interpret continuous glucose monitoring in ways that improve the care of people with diabetes
- Identify the various glucose lowering therapies that do and do not also reduce cardiovascular and other outcomes
- Discuss the range of choices of glucose lowering drugs in type 2 diabetes
- Improve assessment and management of hypertension in people with diabetes
