Announcing our Best Small Fictions nominations

We are pleased to announce our nominations for the 2025 Best Small Fictions. Published by Alternating Current Press, BSF is an annual anthology of short hybrid fiction.

March 31 deadline for $1,000 Short Story Prize

The deadline for our 16th annual Short Story Contest is March 31. The winner will receive $1,000 and online publication in our summer issue. Four additional finalists will receive cash prizes and online publication. The entry fee is $10 and we are open to ANY topic or writing style.

Read our 2024 winner, "Better Dead than Red" by Ava Sedgwick.

General submissions

General submissions are open year round. We welcome your most creative work, and do not charge a fee.
