The new issue of Gemini Magazine is now online featuring the winners of our 12th annual Short Story Contest.
Top honors and the $1,000 prize go to Kathleen Spivack of Watertown, Massachusetts for "Moths," a high intensity story about a woman who fights with her husband over the future of their special-needs child.
Second prize: "Banjo" by Earl LeClaire.
Honorable Mentions:
"The Sending" by Andrle Ward
"Captivated: a Siren's Tale" by Chloe Benjamin-Brown
"Glass Houses" by Julia Morris
Thanks to everyone who entered! Thanks also to our amazing team of volunteer readers, without whom this would not have been possible.
Also in this issue: flash fiction from Gilbert Arzola, poetry from Nicholas Kasimatis, archived poetry from Aurora M. Lewis and a cartoon by Bill Thomas. Heralding in this exciting issue is "The Song," glorious street art from Johannesburg by a rising star called Nardstar.
Enter our 12th annual Poetry Open by January 4 for a chance to win $1,000 and publication. We are open to any poetic style or subject.
Peace!
