Here at our home base in Oakland, Ca. we have been thinking allot about CCU 4.0 this after hearing from more then one source that traditional independent KU band trucks are becoming "old" technology and are becoming a thing of the past. Well, I for one don't believe that but it does open up a huge discussion for what the future of independent satellite trucks entails..
So whats next? Well, Let me tell you.
IPTV is whats next for us. Huge temporary satellite bandwidth connectivity, delivered by either wifi or CAT 6 from our reliable platform at a cost point that customers love.
This decision comes after multiple inquiries for IP connectivity, some extensive research/testing and a few very sucessful gigs using the
PARADISE QLEX MODEM. My best guess is that the future of our small HD KU truck and video production business will from this day forward be heavily based on providing IP connectivity technologies. ( don't worry, we will still be that traditional 2 path HD KU rapid response platform that after 17 years in the business is still as reliable as ever) It's just that the writings on the proverbial wall once again to focus on new technologies especially here in the tech savvy bay area.
Personally, I am amazed at how smoothly and simply we can now send and receive reliable huge IP traffic / bandwidth to out webcasting clients at a very affordable price point.
Keeping that in mind and being one that doesn't fear the future... let it be known..
