Patrick Brafford, an award winning writer, director and acting coach in New York City and Los Angeles will conduct acting classes for 8 weeks at the Gulfport Community Players' Back Door Theater, 1619 49th Street S, Gulfport, Florida.
Designed for all levels of acting, especially those seeking to return to the foundations of technique through the use of The Method. Actors will begin to understand the ability to respond, listen, and develop a total charcter. Sensory work as it relates to a charcter and to the play, improvisations, monlogues and scene work will be used to develop their skills. Students will develop monologues and/or act in scenes with one or two other actors. Classes will include warm-ups and critical analysis of the scenes they develop.

un) formed the 3L Theatre where they taught acting classes, developed and produced plays in New York and Canada, and conducted acting workshops throughout the United States.
Early in his career he directed Charles Busch in four productions, the first two at Charles Ludlum's Ridiculous Theatre and the others off-Broadway and at various cabarets in the Village.
He was Associate Director for John Strasberg's The Real Stage, Production Stage Manager for Geraldine Page and Rip Torn at The Greene Street theatre and Administrator/Program Director developing new plays for The Mirror Theatre. He was a member of The Actor's Studio Playwright's/Director's Unit and also became a Professional Observer there. He directed a number of plays at the studio where he met and subsequently directed such noted actors as Kim Hunter, James Spader, Sam McMurray, Gina Belafonte, Frances Fisher and others.
He has worked as an acting coach for Universal Studios and written and/or directed numerous plays that have been produced in the United States including one at American Stage. He continues to write and direct and teach. Since retiring to the St. Petersburg area he has been thrilled to direct and write for the Gulfport Community Players.
Cost: $200.00- 8 weeks
8 Consecutive weeks: Sunday mornings beginning September 13, 2015, 9AM-Noon.
