SFUSD | March 2015 | Get ready for Smarter Balanced Assessments

It’s planning time across the district, and the good news is the overall budget is increasing. The bad news is that our funding remains below the national average, and we're still faced with difficult choices on what to fund.
When our teams are budgeting for the next year, I’m confident the same core value—equity—will guide us, as we all share a vision and know what strategies we need to ensure all of our students graduate ready for success in college and career.
—Richard A. Carranza, Superintendent

It's National School Breakfast Week (March 2-6), and SFUSD is serving 17 percent more breakfasts compared to last year. Things like Breakfast in the Classroom, Second Chance Breakfast at recess, and Grab 'n' Go are three successful programs currently happening across the district, and they're just one part of our entire program to give all our students access to good food.

Happy Meals: Can San Francisco Reinvent the School Cafeteria?
At exactly 11:55 a.m., 233 hungry sixth-graders burst into the cafeteria at San Francisco’s Roosevelt Middle School.
