Painter Frida Kahlo is among 'most searched for painters' on Internet. The ranking of the most searched for painters on the Internet puts Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the first place in Latin America and the second globally, just behind Leonardo Da Vinci. The list, made by the British site www.artsupplies.co.uk, includes the order of the most searched for artists in 2020, a period marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and the prominence of virtual platforms to find all kinds of information. Kahlo's leadership in 29 countries can be visualized on a map that offers an overview of the most popular creators in the world and by continent, using the Google Keyword tool, created by artsupplies.com and specialized in art sales. According to the survey, Da Vinci is in the first place of the searches (82 countries), the third place went to Vincent Van Gogh (24), followed by Pablo Picasso (18) and more recent figures such as the graffiti artist Banksy (14) in the 4th and 5th place, respectively. Kahlo's work recently inspired the National Geographic documentary 'Frida: Long Live Life', by Italian director Giovanni Troilo, which follows the life and art of the artist through photographs, personal items, documents and exclusive interviews.

It's official: CSI is returning to Vegas with William Petersen and Jorja Fox. hey're back, but in a new way: William Petersen and Jorja Fox will reprise their classic CSI roles in the new show CSI: Vegas. The project is described by CBS as a sequel to the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Petersen and Fox will once again play investigators Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle, and the series will also feature Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mel Rodriguez, and Mandeep Dhillon. Original CSI star Wallace Langham will also return to play David Hodges. Here's the official longline for the new version: "CSI: Vegas opens a brand-new chapter in Las Vegas, the city where it all began. Facing an existential threat that could bring down the Crime Lab, a brilliant new team of forensic investigators must welcome back old friends and deploy new techniques to preserve and serve justice in Sin City." The last time we saw Gil and Sara, the married couple were driving their boat into the sunset. Clearly, retirement didn't suit them.

'Game of Thrones' Author George RR Martin Signs 5-Year Overall Deal With HBO. HBO has signed "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin to a massive overall deal in which Martin will develop content for HBO and HBO Max. The deal is for five years and worth somewhere in the mid-eight figures, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news Friday. HBO declined to comment on the terms of the deal. Martin, whose "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels served as the basis for HBO's Emmy-winning series, is currently executive producing the network's upcoming prequel, "House of the Dragon," which will premiere in 2022. At the same time, HBO is developing a number of other spinoffs, including ones for HBO Max. "House of the Dragon" is set 300 years before the events of HBO's fantasy epic. The 10-episode show is set in the early days of Westeros and focuses on House Targaryen, the family that Emilia Clarke's Daenerys belonged to, along with her brother Viserys (Harry Lloyd) and nephew Aegon Targaryen, aka Jon Snow (Kit Harington). The series is based on Martin's "Fire & Blood" book, which details the lineage of the Targaryens.

LeBron James Honored with President's Award at 2021 NAACP Image Awards. The 36-year-old NBA star was honored with the prestigious accolade during the virtual awards ceremony on Saturday. NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson presented him with the award, saying, "Tonight, the President's Award goes to someone who has earned our greatest respect and highest honor, not for his dominance in the NBA, but for his dedication to social justice." "LeBron James, 'the chosen one.' A name befitting an individual so keenly aware of the platform he has built with his athletic skills," he continued. "And yet, like all black athletes, he is all too familiar with the risks involved with raising his voice against systemic racism. But just as he has done on the court, he rises to the occasion on behalf of our communities and lends himself to the need for progress and true equality." James accepted the award virtually, thanking his family, friends and fans for all their support. "First of all, I wish I could be standing to accept this award, but the doctor told me I need to keep the weight off of my ankle," he said, referencing his recent ankle sprain injury. "I appreciate all the well wishes and to my injury, I'll be back soon."
