NEWS FLASH
ADSL now stands for All Dorchester Sports & Leadership
(previously All Dorchester Sports League)
ADSL is committed to providing resources to the youth and families of our community. We are not only a sports league, but rather an organization that provides services that will help our program participants be the best healthy, well-rounded individuals that they can be.
Sports are one way that we teach the importance of exercise, respect, dedication, teamwork, etc. However, we also offer academic programs, nutrition programs, and fitness programs. We are excited to now be using a name that reflects our mission.

Our Star Volunteers
Meet Will -
He is a senior [pictured to the right: the student sitting] at BC High that is making incredible strides both inside and outside of the classroom. Will has stayed involved with ADSL as a volunteer tutor throughout his years at BC High. Although he initially connected with us to fill his 60 hours of mandatory volunteer service, he continues to serve with ADSL
every single weekday, even though he is a senior and no longer has any required hours to fill. Will has been our rock this year, and he has taken over the position of lead volunteer.
Will was featured in BC High's magazine this month! He worked with other BC High students to bring awareness to the issues of diversity and race. The magazine includes an article that discussed the impact on the school that these students were able to have this year. We are so proud to have such wonderful students as our volunteers!
NOW: Actively Looking for Volunteers
Are you interested in becoming a successful volunteer like Will? ADSL is now looking for volunteers that are willing to help out in a variety of ways this summer. We need help with our summer sports teams and additional support for our summer program.

In the News - Our Local Basketball Legend
Our basketball coach, Al "Al Ski" McClain has been nominated as the Jr. NBA Coach of the Year! During the Celtics vs. the Nets game
tonight, Al will be honored for the positive and profound impact that he has had on the youth in our community. We are so grateful to have such an incredible person on our team!
Click Here to see the full article. Read below for more on Al's bio!
For 30 years, Al McClain has tirelessly dedicated himself to youth development through the game of basketball in the city of Boston. Operating leagues, camps and mentor programs throughout the city, Coach Al has positively impacted the lives of more than 3,000 young people throughout his coaching career. A local basketball legend from his playing days at Trade HS in Hyde Park, Al went on to become the leading scorer in University of New Hampshire men’s basketball history before being drafted by the Rockets in 1984. Determined to return to Boston and make a positive impact in the lives of young people, Al is the founder of leagues and programs that have crossed city lines, brought people together and unified the community by teaching the values of the game. |
