Education: It started out as a normal day for Bryan at Nicholls State University this past March. He had been brought up to be pro-life but at college was told by his professors to start thinking for himself, and became pro-choice. But then he stopped at the Justice for All table. After about ten minutes of conversation, Grace, the JFA team member asked him “Bryan, have you ever seen

images of abortion?” After his negative reply, Grace asked if he was willing to view them, and he said “Sure.” He was shocked by the pictures. The conversation continued for 45 minutes as Grace “trotted out the toddler” to help Bryan understand that the central question relating to the morality and legality of abortion is “What is the unborn?” She also walked Bryan through fetal development and discussed philosophical arguments about whether the unborn is a person with rights, like the rest of us. Bryan loudly declared that if his girlfriend got pregnant, they would keep the baby no matter how hard it was! He began pulling aside his friends that were passing by and using the same reasoning he had just heard, convincing them to be pro-life as well! Bryan stayed with the table over 2 hours talking to both friends and strangers. His enthusiasm was a welcome change to the apathy often encountered. (1)

Prayer: Dear Jesus, Please help Americans to be open to the truth of what abortion truly is. Please call many pro-life advocates to pursue training on how to effectively help our pro-choice friends and neighbors to become pro-life. Help us to be courageous in starting conversations about abortion. Help us to listen well and wisely choose which tools to use, including graphic pictures if needed, to educate our friends and family members. Help parents to be wise in teaching their children about abortion, explaining the ‘why’ behind the teaching. Help our nation to move from pro-choice to pro-life, one person at a time. |
