What is NaProTechnology?

And why is this more effective treatment for infertility not more widely known and used?

Education: Natural Procreative (NaPro) Technology is a relatively new women’s health science that monitors and maintains a woman’s reproductive and gynecological health. Infertility is a symptom of underlying disease. After the advent of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), doctors began to skip over trying to identify and treat the underlying causes of infertility and simply replace the natural process with a different one. IVF, however, disrespects human life by creating a greater number of embryos than the parents have

the intention of raising. “Extra” embryos are either discarded, frozen, or donated to research (and killed). NaPro Technology cooperates completely with the reproductive system and seeks to restore normal function rather than replace it. Diagnostic techniques have improved and the monitoring of mucus patterns, as well as measurement of hormone levels, over the course of the cycle provides information that can be obtained no other way. While many doctors have rejected NaProTechnology because of its approval by churches, it is solidly based on science and more effective than IVF in achieving pregnancy. Or perhaps doctors are more interested in IVF because there is more money to be made with that technique?

NaPro Technology provides medical and surgical treatments for the problems identified by close observation of the cycle. One case mentioned on the web site involved a woman with dry cycles (no mucus) and seven years of infertility.The use of Vitamin B6 as a mucus enhancing supplement and fertility-focused intercourse during the fertile period were all that were required to achieve pregnancy.

Prayer: Dear Father God, please have mercy on couples who struggle with infertility.Help them to understand the moral problems associated with IVF, and how it disrespects human life.Help them to find doctors willing to work with their reproductive systems to find and address the underlying cause of the infertility.In cases where the infertility cannot be corrected, please help these couples to discern if you may have a child in mind for them to complete their family through adoption.

Action: If you have friends struggling with infertility, make sure they are aware of the moral issues with In Vitro Fertilization. Let them know about the availability of NaPro Technology.
