There is one week to go until the 12th annual Full Moon in June! This is likely to be your final update, unless something comes up that should be shared with the group.
Registration will take place downstairs in the day lodge - just to the right of the ticket windows. They are setting up a wedding and they do not want racers upstairs in the dining hall - they are afraid you will take all of the candy bombonieres to load up on calories.
You can book accommodations at Castle Mountain prior to the race if there is still room. The race ends at an undisclosed location in or around the town of Crowsnest Pass so post-race accommodations there will be your best bet.
The conditions are currently wet, wet, and more wet. Luckily this area dries quickly after even long periods of rain like we have seen. The weather is supposed to improve going into next week but the crystal ball is cloudy beyond that. Bring lots of extra gear! I cannot stress that enough. The rain is having one positive effect - it's bringing down a lot of that late snow.
So far the bugs have been very tame due to the cool temperatures this summer. I've only had one bite. My instincts tell me that they will come back with a vengeance once it warms up.
So all in all it's shaping up to be a pretty wicked race! It is definitely one of the most scenic courses we've had. You will end up in places that literally only a handful of people have ever walked.
Don't forget that we are also giving away a pair of custom FMIJ DeFeet socks to all of the racers that are currently registered. We also promised some little goody bags along the way. We have some nice little surprises in store. Some of them will be useful during the race, some are just fun gifts.
In my last note I mentioned snowshoes and two drop bags (one large, one small). The bags, and possibly the snowshoes, will be taken out to where you need them. You will not have to carry the drop bags... unless you decide you haul a teammate around in it. Hey - you have to finish together.

We are looking forward to seeing you next week. Rest up and get ready for a wild ride!
