Hi Everyone -
We are one week away from the Full Moon in June 2010! Just one more quick update between now and next Friday. If you are not able to make the dinner after 5:00pm and the volunteer meeting at 7:00pm on Friday the 25th, please let me know right away. We are booking meals for all of you so I hope you will sit with us and socialize. If you are not there on Friday night, we will have to arrange a time and place to meet the next day.
In case you missed it in my last email, here is a link to the draft placements where we would like to see everyone during the race. I hope we have met your requests. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhHRHcmoOeS4dHJVQ1FVUW1aS2RIUVJmSnJOWnpyeGc&hl=en
Getting to Castle Mountain Resort
Castle Mountain Resort is located on Hwy 774, south of the hamlet of Beaver Mines. Please check this link for a map and directions. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=109628687437969690731.000487c5dcb6a921564cc&ll=49.322702,-114.414153&spn=0.010532,0.022917&t=h&z=16
Gear to Bring
Like most of southern Alberta, it has been wet here for weeks. Luckily it looks like it is drying up going into next week. Please be sure to bring enough clothes and food to keep yourself warm and happy during the weekend. We will be handing out snack packs but they will not be enough for the whole race.
Most of you will have a chance to camp at your checkpoints and in between the your posts (if you have more than one). If you are going to a remote CP on foot or by ATV, please remember to bring gear to keep yourself warm and comfortable - you are likely to be there for a while.
In reality, this is just like a camping trip with a few tasks thrown in. You will also get to meet some great people... and watch them suffer in the woods as they push themselves to the limit.
One thing that we have not mentioned is a GPS. If you have one, please bring it, especially if you are slated for a remote CP where you hike or ATV to your spot. We will supply all of the directions you need but it helps to have a GPS.
If you want to see the full description of what we suggest you bring, be sure to check out the Volunteer page of our website. http://www.fullmoonadventure.com/volunteer_fmij_overview.html

Thank you so much for offering to volunteer! We have a great race in store and we hope you will enjoy it as much as the competitors. Actually, I hope you enjoy it more than the competitors because some of them get pretty beaten up. See you next Friday!
Best Regards,
Brian Gallant & Andrew Fairhurst
