Dear Maple Village Community,
Are you still living in the afterglow of last Friday night? I know many of us are! Our Spring Under The Stars Gala was an incredible success. Here are some words I continue to hear which describe the night: “beautiful - classy - elegant - first-rate.” The MOLAA venue, set-up and decorations and centerpieces were jaw dropping, and silent auction items were abound, with something for everyone. Dinner catered by Primal Alchemy was delicious. Live auction items handmade by the teachers and children were invaluable treasures, homemade desserts were divine and the friendly competition for them was exciting! Francesca and Emilio entertained us with their soothing voices early in the evening, our faculty performed songs in the round, and the band, Miko Shudo Quintet, provided perfect dance music to take us to the end!
At one point in the night, I just stood back and watched for a while. I was so touched to see 150 people smiling, laughing and enjoying each other. Our once tiny parent-body has grown with intention. We are happy to report that in addition to all the love and community building this night provided, we also earned over $20,000 for our school!
Thank you to our very dedicated and hard-working Gala Committee:
Linda Galvan, Lee Gumbiner, Pam Villano, Albert Tan, Erin Lipeles, Francesca Preponis, Kari Rahni, and Jessica Clay
and to ALL of our parents for contributing to class baskets and silent auction donations. Thank you to Tim Grove for being our snazzy auctioneer!
On behalf of the faculty, I also want to thank all the people who contributed to the Faculty Professional Development Fund, as this funding will help to make trainings more accessible for all our lead teachers, who will then bring back the fruits of mentorship to your children.
We have so much appreciation for our parents who created and carried out this event with affection and professionalism. I already look forward to next year’s!
With gratitude,
Lisa J. McCarthy
