Dear Maple Village Community,
What a wonderful first few weeks we have had filled with learning, socializing, growth, and fun!
Thank you to everyone who came to our Stargazing Concert on Saturday evening. In addition to community building, we raised money to go toward the venue rental and recording studio time.
And what an incredible first Parent Village meeting complete with food, free childcare, getting to know new families, humor, friendship and volunteerism! You are all at the HEART of our school and so appreciated!
Please join us for an upcoming exciting lecture with traveling author and Waldorf teacher, Lou Harvey-Zahra. I highly encourage you to attend and spread the word, as it is open to the public as well.
The Waldorf Institute of Southern California is also hosting her for a day long workshop for teachers. How LUCKY are we to get her for YOU? Admission is a bargain at only $5 a person.
If enough people need childcare, we will arrange on a reservation-based system (paid directly to child care providers). There will be a limited amount of spots, and childcare is open to Maple Village enrolled families only. Please RSVP to Alice by Noon on Monday, September 26.
Here are some topics covered in the lecture:
- What is Creative Discipline? Rudolf Steiner calls it ‘Loving Authority’.
- The reasons behind children’s behaviors
- What to expect at each stage of childhood development
- Ten creative discipline strategies explained
- Inspiring and practical ideas to transform behaviors in a positive manner
Please see the flyer below for more details!
Warmly,
Lisa J. McCarthy
