The upcoming Mobile Payments Conference, to be held at the Helen Mills Event Space & Theater, April 10 - 11, 2013, is part of a series of conferences held twice a year looking at what is new in the mobile payments and mobile wallet business.
Sponsored by Mobile Marketing & Technology, an online news outlet, the conference attracts about 100 to 150 mostly “C” and VP titles from most parts of the mobile wallet and mobile payments ecosystem. This is the fifth conference we have held on the subject over the last two years.
“Mobile Commerce is the New Buzz” will be our broad theme again this conference. We are working with the best in the industry to present the latest thinking by firms and suppliers about how mobile payments and mobile wallet services now make sense for retailer mobile commerce efforts in a broad sense.
We will discuss current issues and trends in the mobile wallet and mobile payment spaces, with an emphasis on retail payments, with some additional attention to person-to-person and online payments, including:
- Status of mobile payments, mobile wallets and mobile commerce as parts of the overall “retail customer journey”
- Share the ways mobiles are used for marketing, which leads to customer acquisition
- Address the ways mobiles are used in stores by consumers while shopping and for point of sale checkout
- Discuss the ways mobile-based loyalty programs are used for customer retention
- Mobile-enabled marketing
- Mobile-enabled shopping
- Mobile-enabled loyalty
- Mobile point of sale for both consumer and retailer devices
- “Remote payments” for digital or virtual goods
- Peer-to-peer applications for developed market users
- Integrating online and offline payments
- Payments case studies
- Business forecasts
We also invite your suggestions for additional topics or speaker nominations. Tell us what you want to speak about, and which of the subject areas your topic fits (including topics not listed above).
We generally use a “featured presentation” format where a single executive, from a single company speaks about 20-minutes including Q & A. We also emphasize that talks and presentations are delivered in keynote format (not parallel). The meeting is structured so that all attendees are in plenary session. We do not break out into panel sessions.
We encourage informal presentations whenever possible (without slides), though we would say perhaps half of our speakers do include formal presentations (with slides) as part of their talks.
