October 2017
Dear Donors and Friends of CMCS Men,
Thanks for your interest to keep informed of the many wonderful things that happen at Catholic Men Chicago Southland throughout the year. To do this, we send you monthly e-mail messages for donors with updates, articles, and reminders of our activities. Please be assured that your personal information will be kept completely confidential.
Firstly, we are moving towards using only one email address for all of CMCS communications. This address is -
saintly@cmcsvirtues.org - kindly update your email contacts list. In fact, I will be sending this same email from that address early Wednesday morning, so if you don’t see it please check your spam folder or let me know.
Thank you very much!
During the month of October is one of the four times a year that we appeal to the CMCS Men for new financial support. Please know those mails (if you also get them) are for the apostolate expenses. Because you are a known donor we look for your support, with this email, to the annual Men’s conference. |

With all that out of the way, I want to share with you how the mission of Catholic Men’s Ministry is becoming more known nationwide. Because keeping Christ in the lives of Men is now more important than ever. Please read the recent enlightening article below from Catholic News Agency:
Men are craving authentic friendships – and it's ok to admit it |

One thing that we are working on before the upcoming conference on April 7, 2018 is developing parish captains of sorts for the purpose of mobilizing men, not only for the conference but, more so to develop an outlet for them at their home parish.
A new book has emerged provided by the Dynamic Catholic organisation titled
‘No Man Left Behind’. Below is an excertp from that book, I plan with your help to provide one copy to every parish in the Vicariate at least, or any Chicagoland parish who asks of it. |

The Paradox of Men’s Ministry: It Really Is Rocket Science
Men’s Ministry. How hard can it be? Think about it: You’ve got men; you’ve got a parish. Add a testimony, some pancakes, a prayer, and—poof!—a Catholic men’s ministry. Or perhaps not, especially in light of these words of John Paul II to American bishops:
Sometimes even Catholics have lost or never had the chance to experience Christ personally; not Christ as a mere “paradigm,” but the Living Lord: “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). |
