The first month of 2018 is already coming to a close, and this will be the forteenth year for Catholic Men Chicago Southland. Did that go by fast!!
The hundreds of men over the years who have attended the conferences at their parishes (which started out as Men's Prayer Breakfasts) and who now follow CMCS online.
The many coffee meetings with men one-on-one, and I've lost count on the numbers who've returned to the pew, and then brought their family with them.
The potential divorces cancled, and number of referrals and resources shared to restore the family, and thus build a stronger Church and Community.
My eyes well up thinking about the lives touched and transformed.
The words my prayer time brought to me today are
'am I going beyond my fears and dreams to reach out and touch Jesus so that He can touch others?' When I look at the impact of CMCS, my answer is a profound
YES!!
And I can't do this alone, but with the tremendous help of the CMCS Team to keep things on a sound path, for example, their direction to
teach our old blog new tricks. And because your support is the only way that CMCS survives.
One thing I've learned for sure is that 'you' can't measure spiritual poverty. Because as we work to nurture spirituality, men don't tell us when they have growth or that ah-hah moment. But we do see after the conferences when some men come to us emotional or in tears to share how we hit them in the heart, and they say something like
"this is what I needed to hear".
Now, you have generously provided the facility money for the 2018 men's conference. Thank you, we could not do this without you! I will now be looking to the
CMCS Men to fill in the gaps for materials expenses, and the event ticket revenue to cover the food. The 2017 conference saw the largest donation support in the history of CMCS, and we'll see if 2018 will be the same.
But the need is still great, and we need your help today if you've not done so already. We are short $200.00 to carry the CMCS Apostolate expenses through the end of March (first quarter) of 2018.

donating today, you'll be sure to keep CMCS on the best foot going forward into 2018.
