The whole story --
Dear CMCS Men and Friends,
It's the start of September and I've had the A/C off for what seems like three weeks. The weather here in Chicagoland as well as around the country, as you may know, has been unsettling and unpredictable, much like the matters of our Church, and the political arena.
Likewise, there is much at stake for the Soul of a man, and the marriage covenant, and fostering a holy chruch. So I would like to briefly appeal for your financial support, to put on your radar the present needs for CMCS and, for our upcoming 2018 Men's Conference.
An important element of the conference is to make the ticket price affordable to men, as well as provide a reduced rate to Deacons and free to Priests. We also provide ʻscholarshipʼ tickets to the men from
Zacchaeus House in Chicago, who offers mercy and grace to men in need. This is a home for men who need to take time to heal.
To help make this happen, here's the top three items that we need right now:
A) We will very soon be experiencing an fourth quarter deficit of $200.00 to the CMCS operating expenses. As you know, we function debt free, and all of the CMCS Team work as volunteers, so we appeal for
your prayers and financial support today. This is not a lot of money, yes, but it becomes a lot when you don't have it to work with.
B) We have a deadline in the coming weeks to meet the remaining expenses of $700.00 needed for our men's conference set for April 7, 2018. This will be used for promotion and facilities (see item 'C'), and conference materials.
Please reply to this email, as I would like to hear that you can provide CMCS funds, or a pledge, as I understand some of you prefer to send an end of the year gift. This event promises to make a huge dent with Catholic teens and young adults, especially for young Men.
… If you own a business, would you consider being a corporate sponsor for the conference? Let's talk about it!
C) Noteworthy - We are hosting this conference at the large capacity
St. Rita Shrine Chapel, rather than a conference center, so as usual to keep expenses low and foster a holy Church.
Bishop Perry has graciously offered once again to support from his office the speaker stipend, as he has a deep heart for Christ to be the center of a man's life. So your gifts to this effort will be combined with the speaker expense, and tell us that you too believe in this important work.
Please let me know today with your reply to this e-mail that you can help!
