ACIDITY AWARENESS BLOG
After a lifetime of consuming a bad diet, the body remains in a constant state of acidity. Every organ in our bodies is affected by acidity. Our bones, liver, stomach, heart, kidneys, intestines, lungs, skin and brain.
When our bodies enter into this acidosis state, it becomes the perfect breeding ground for disease. If your body is too acidic, you generally won’t feel too good, as precious minerals are removed from the vital organs and bones to neutralize the acid and remove it from the body. Once these minerals reserves are depleted, the body will just keep running on more and more acid.
A few signs that your body may be too acidic:
• Skin problems like acne or eczema
• Osteoporosis
• Allergies and sinus problems
• Chronic Fatigue
• Reduced mental clarity
• Increased Weight
• Joint Pain and sensitive gums
• Diabetes
• Candida and stomach problems
Most dairy products, soy, meats, refined sugars, coffee, alcohol are very acidic and when we eat them, acidic waste products are generated. These waste products need to be neutralized or excreted and this is where consuming alkaline foods comes in. A body that maintains its high alkaline point will have less chronic inflammation, which is the top cause of most diseases. Alkaline foods neutralize acids from an unhealthy diet.
A few ideas to reduce your acidity:
1. Remove or radically reduce acidic foods like soda, alcohol, coffee, meat, wheat products, processed sugars and soy and avoid transgenic foods.
2. Eat more vegetables and salads. A green smoothie or juice is amazingly alkalizing. Or try one of the powders; wheatgrass, barley grass, hemp or moringa.
3. Drink plenty of spring or filtered water each day to flush the toxins away. Add some lemon to it in the morning for a refreshing start.
4. You’ve heard it before, but your emotional state also affects the PH of your body. Partake in any form of exercise or hobby you enjoy. Meditation and yoga are fantastic and will help you de-stress.
5. Try apple cider vinegar which promotes an alkaline environment inside your body.
If you want to know whether you’re more on the acidic or alkaline side, you can easily test at home using test strips bought from your health shop or pharmacy. You can use either your saliva or urine to show you the results. If your PH is less than 7, maybe now is the time to implement a few changes, before it is too late. |

As the days and nights get cooler, April is the month we usually see an influx in runny noses, sinusitis and colds and flu.
The homeopathic flu vaccine kit helps you get ready for winter and reduces your risks of getting really sick and needing anti biotics. It covers the high risk strains for 2019 and Osillococcinum and Echinacea as immune boosters (R95). Contact me for more details or to order.

CHIA CARDAMOM PUDDING
Highly alkaline and vegan friendly, this pudding has a good amount of protein and Omega 3 fats and can be consumed for breakfast or a yum snack. Great alternative to high sugar cereals.
Ingredients:
- 50g chia seeds
- 4 cardamom pods
- 10g hemp seeds (can substitute a protein powder of your choice)
- 10g crushed walnuts
- 200ml almond milk
- A trickle of natural raw honey for sweetness
- A few goji or other berries for decoration
Method:
Put all ingredients (except the berries) in a bowl and mix thoroughly until all the chia seeds are covered well with the almond milk. Leave for an hour or two overnight so that the chia seeds expand and go gelatinous.
Remove cardamom pods and top with the berries of your choice. Serve and enjoy.

MONTHLY GEMSTONE
The gemstone I have picked this month is:
Turquoise. This beautiful blue stone is very beneficial for creative problem solving. It helps you to understand how things work and where you fit into the scheme of things.
Particularly valuable in spiritual work, it aids the search for who you really are. It is a healing and protective stone, while its purifying effect dispels negative energy.

"Find the beauty in the small details. When you look at others, see their strengths. When you raise your voice, let it be in laughter. When you listen, make sure you really hear. It’s all about perspective. The choice... is always ours."
