Don’t Forget These 5 Things for Your Maternity Shoot
Your maternity photoshoot is something that will only happen once or twice (or four or five times if you plan on having a full house). Of course you want it to go as smoothly as possible. You’re pregnant, possibly uncomfortable, and about to get in front of the camera. To take some of the pressure off, we’ve compiled a list of things you won’t want to forget to bring to your maternity portrait session.
1. Your Wardrobe
Obviously you won’t forget the clothes you’re wearing, but depending upon the type of shoot you and your photographer discuss, there may be one or more outfit changes to give some variety to your maternity photos. The night before your photoshoot, go ahead and get your clothes ready. Put them in a place where you’re sure to see them as you walk out the door to meet your photographer.
2. Any Props You Want to Use
Props are great ways to add some fun to any photoshoot. If you’ve opted for props—whether they be letters spelling out your bundle of joy’s name, a teddy bear, or a sweet pair of baby-sized socks—make sure you gather them together in a bag and place them next to your wardrobe and other things you want to bring to the photoshoot.
3. Snacks and Plenty of Water
Maternity photoshoots can take some time, so be sure to pack a tote bag with bottles of water and any snacks you’re craving. What could be worse than being on a photoshoot and hungry? Not much…especially if you’re pregnant.
4. Your Significant Other
If you’d like to include your significant other in your maternity photos, don’t forget to bring him or her along! Including your partner is a great way to take your first set of portraits together as a family—even though one member has yet to come into the world!
5. A Great Attitude
Get that smile on your face, and get ready to have some fun! If you’re cranky or miserable during your maternity session, it will show in the final product, and no one wants maternity photos of a grouchy pregnant woman. Brush off whatever grumpiness you may be feeling, and walk into your photoshoot with a great attitude.
These are just five things we suggest bringing along to your maternity photoshoot. Remember them, and your session is sure to be a breeze!
