Why 2012 is a Great Year
to Build Your New Home!
The Salt Lake Board of Realtors just released an analysis of our local economy by James Wood, Director of the University of Utah's Bureau of Economic and Business Research.
Here's what he found:
- Home Sales are Predicted to Rise 15% in 2012
- Homes Now are Priced Affordably- 7 out of 10 homes sold in Salt Lake Country were affordable to the median income
- Interest Rates Hit an All Time Low of 4.01%, breaking the previous low of 4.08% in 1950
- Utah is Number 4 in the Nation in Housing Appreciation Over Past 20 Years
- Utah Job Growth Increased Significantly in the 2nd Half of 2011, signaling a stabilizing economy
Wood's findings mean that 2012 is a great year to build a new home! The economy is recovering and home sales will increase, leading to increased pricing and greater appreciation for your new home. In addition, interest rates are at an all time low, making your buying power greater than ever before!
