Greetings!
The Technest Orientation and Assessment day for Fall Semester is this Saturday, August 10th from 10am-noon at the Milpitas Extension (1450 Escuela Parkway, Milpitas, CA 95035).
Come to the orientation to learn more about the program, and to enroll in CIS 106 (Introduction to Computer Coding using Python) or CIS 107 (Data Science) as well as hear about information about IoT, cloud computing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence!
Here's the tentative agenda:
* 10:00 am - 10:30 am: Students and Participants arrive to enjoy coffee and bagels!
* 10:30am - 10:45am: Welcome remarks
* 10:45 am - 11:15 am: Professors Branom and Dorairaj provide information about courses, pre-requisites, and requirements of the courses, a little bit about the content of the courses. Questions from the audience are encouraged during this period. Former students will discuss their experiences in the Technest program.
* 11:15 am - 11:30 am: Michael Castro (A&R) and Benjamin Grainger (Counseling) introduce the other counselors and administrators present to assist students who need to apply to the College or have other issues related to enrollment. Sean Guess (from Work2Future) will talk about Work2Future, and how they can assist with finding employment.
* 11:30 am - 12 noon: The assessment will be released, and students can either use the machines in the Tech Lab (or their own phone/tablet/computer) to fill it out and enroll in the Technest courses (CIS 106 and CIS 107).
Hope to see you there!
Sincerely
Mark Branom
