Hugo Games Community Update |

Hello! Welcome to the 3rd community update from us here at Hugo Games. Just to recap from last week, we launched the official Hugo Games Discord Server on Thursday of last week... aaaaand then I went on holiday for 3 days. This week, my main job is get the server a little more active. If you have any questions, the Discord server is now the place to go. There's a link at the bottom of this email to get involved. |

Assuming I keep getting questions from the server, I'll take a segment of this email to answer the bigger/more frequently asked questions. This week we have 4 pretty good ones!
1. What has been happening at Hugo Games since the last Community Update? - A fair amount of things this week. Towards the end of last week we released a new tutorial for Nyjah Huston: #SkateLife which should make the experience significantly better for players. We'll be working on fine tuning and monitoring that over the next couple of weeks. Other games are progressing as usual and I'm a little limited on what I can and can't tell you. More on that in the future!
2. Any updates on Doodle Jump 2? Maybe a release date? - I have to be careful here as Doodle Jump 2 is not our IP (Intellectual Property). I believe the worldwide release for Doodle Jump 2 is towards the end of Q4/ the beginning of Q1. Don't quote me on that until I tell you that's
for certain though! As for updates, we've been working hard on the level design for DJ2. It's a tricky thing to ensure the levels are easily navigatable for the player, but also provide a challenge and many obstacles so it feels rewarding. There will be some surprises when you finally get your hands on it!
3. When are you going global with Nyjah Huston: #SkateLife? - The planned global release for this game is Q4. Which could be any time between September 1st and December 31st. I promise we'll narrow this down for you when we come closer to the full release.
4. How are your developer team organised and how is your working process? - This is one of those questions that would take 1,500 words to answer fully so I'm going to make this super basic. Our dev team is called Fuzzy Frog and, right now, they're made up of around 30 members split into 4 dev teams and then supports (such as QA and Community (me :D )). Each dev team works on a specific game but the members can swap around between teams as is needed. We find our artists are working for multiple projects at once these days.
As for our working process, we plan our development on a 1-week/2-week basis and break the required work up into tasks to aid the devs in their focus. That's the basics of it, at least!
Thanks for your questions! |
