Protect Your Investment
Jewelry repair can be minimized by conducting your own periodic inspections and evaluations. Causes of Lost Gemstones
The #1 cause of lost gemstones is worn or broken prongs and tips. Check for rattling or movement in your gemstones. Inspect in all areas around the stones to see if settings are tight and secure. Use a pair of tweezers or a toothpick and gently nudge the stones to see if there is any movement. In some cases, impacted dirt under a gemstone can actually keep stones intact under pressure until they are cleaned, then can fall out if not inspected properly.
