Dear Friends,
In February, with support and encouragement from my family, many friends, and business associates, I filed as a Republican candidate for the North Carolina Senate, District 27. This step is a bold step for me. I am not a politician. But for years I've wondered, "Why are there not more common sense conservatives in political office? Why do we have so many politicians without a genuine understanding of our Founding Documents: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights?"
I decided it's time to stop wondering and start working to bring pro-jobs polices, fiscal responsibility, and common sense leadership to the General Assembly.
Government belongs to those who show up. - Unknown
North Carolina is in jeopardy. Our way of life is threatened by an escalating, intrusive, and inefficient government. The opportunities to pursue our happiness, enjoy the fruits of our labor, and raise our families are diminishing. We must halt the growing government behemoth.
There is an opportunity this year to change the course of our state. An opportunity to make North Carolina a business-friendly oasis for job creation and prosperity. There is an opportunity to give families choices in education, opening new doors to a brighter future for our children. There is an opportunity be responsible with tax dollars, tightening the government's belt in Raleigh. There is an opportunity rid our state government of cronyism, corruption, and self aggrandizement.
These opportunities exist in the 2010 election if we, as a concerned and enlightened electorate work to elect fiscal, constitutional conservatives. If we return the same Democrats to power, the same Democrats responsible for taxing North Carolina higher than all of our neighbors in the Southeast, the same Democrats who have controlled the NC Senate for 112 years, we will squander these opportunities. And we may not recover.
Please join with me to return North Carolina to prosperity; to fix the tax, borrow, and spend culture in Raleigh; to give parents choices in where their kids go to school; and to create an environment for private sector job creation. We can make a positive change in North Carolina. We can be prosperous again.
Thank you.

JOBS and their creation are our most pressing concern. However, if you ask almost any Democratic Legislator in the General Assembly they will tell you the the biggest problem facing North Carolina is Tax Revenue. They are very concern about how to collect more revenue to fund their pet programs and agendas.
