Updates from the Liberian Corporate Registry |
Welcome to this year end edition of the Liberian Corporate Registry’s quarterly electronic newsletter. |
Corporate Group Spreads the Spirit of Giving
|
|
The holidays are near. During the holiday season, the spirit of giving touches the hearts of everyone. This year the Corporate Group is hosting a toy drive in collaboration with the Toys for Tots campaign. Toys for Tots is a US Marine-hosted toy drive that has drop-off locations all over the nation. In 2011, Toys for Tots distributed nearly 16 million toys to more than 7 million children.
Our Corporate team in Greece has volunteered to provide baked goods to the homeless for Christmas. As Greece’s economic depression worsens, homelessness and hunger continues to be a problem for many people throughout the country. Our team in Piraeus has taken the initiative to support those especially in need.
The Corporate Zurich office has also donated to a local charity organization, Stiftung Heilsarmee, to show support and compassion.
We close out the year grateful for the advances and success of the Corporate Registry. We hope that our spirits are infectious to our friends and partners around the world.

Liberian Corporations are accepted by banks worldwide. However, the Registry has recently been receiving an increasing number of requests for recommendations and referrals for banks that open commercial bank accounts for Liberian non-resident corporations. In response, the Registry has started pro-actively contacting banks to confirm that they will accept applications from nonresident Corporations and creating a list for clients seeking guidance.
Please contact us if you are having trouble locating a suitable bank, noting your preferred jurisdictions. While the project is in an initial phase, we can help you locate a welcoming bank. If we do not have any in your preferred jurisdiction, we will target banks in that jurisdiction to find one for you.
Also, we invite you contact us if you have been refused a bank account simply due to the applicant being a Liberian Corporate entity. We can provide information to assist you and if provided with relevant details can try to contact the bank directly in an attempt to resolve the situation.
Please keep in mind that account applicants must meet their bank’s due diligence requirements.
Documents available from the Registry include Certificates of Goodstanding as well as Certified Copies of filed documents. While there is no requirement to file the names of Directors, Officers or Shareholders, Corporations can voluntarily publicly file this information with the Registrar or privately record this information with the Registered Agent in order to obtain additional documentation supporting a corporation’s application to open a bank account.
Banks interested in being included in our referral list should email corporate@liscr.com. Please be sure to indicate the type of account (commercial, private wealth, etc.) and include any limitations such as areas and nationalities served, etc.

Why Liberia Now? |
There is no better time than now, for those who remember Liberia as an offshore jurisdiction, to metaphorically revisit the jurisdiction. Liberia is a premier corporate jurisdiction that is still going strong after more than 60 years of service. The longevity of the Registry can be attributed to its ability to offer a vast array of quality services, at a relatively economical rate, in an evolving business sector. For those who are not familiar with Liberia as an offshore jurisdiction, I would like to introduce you to Liberia. Read more.
