WHAT ARE CATALYST WEDNESDAYS? | WEDNESDAY MAY 23RD |
|
|
Wednesdays are for going out.
Not Fridays, not Saturdays, too mainstream.
Wednesdays are what we do at Catalyst. We line up a few things that we've been wanting to do and we pump them all out in one day. We got through four things!
1. Biking
This Wednesday we geared up to go to go on the
5-hour Bicitour in Medellin. We started out at Casa Kiwi and went downtown, to Carlos E Restrepo, Estadio, down 70, to Pueblito Paisa, back to Poblado. The whole thing took about 4.5 hours and was a real blast! We got a little more tan (actually red), learned a lot more about Medellin from totally new angles, even found new bike routes we can take on the reg!
2. Coffee & Snacks
After that, we visited
Buenavida Cafe on Primavera and bathed in their adorable decor, and amazing wall of art. We drank some cold brew to recover from our super sporty morning and had an amazing grilled cheese (no bread, just cheese) plate with pesto and a delicious croissant sandwich with a refreshing juice. They're killing the snack game.
3. Vietnamese Dinner
We had dinner at
District 1, and I gotta tell you.. after not having Vietnamese food for three months, my heart was so happy. We had spring rolls to start, the pad thai, which Alex, the owner explained is similar to a Vietnamese dish, and the only thing I had during my time in Vietnam, bun. His, a Bun Thit Heo (article and photos coming soon).
4. Live Music at Vicky Regia
At 9:45 a jazz group took the
Victoria Regia stage to do a tribute to Michael Jackson. They played the classics, about ten songs total. Two of the band members were friends from
Puerto Candelaria. The songs were jazz arrangements with some scat singing. Though the crowd was a bit rude at times (slipping into a "happy birthday" during the show, for example) the show itself was great and not something you generally get for a mere 10,000 (+5,000 on drinks) a.k.a. totally worth it.
We'll be in Laureles next week, have any suggestions for us? reply to this email. |
