Members of the Standardbred Racing industry support the Save America's Forgotten Equines Act of 2025 (SAFE Act, H.R. 1661 & S. 775).
This bill would bring an end to our horses being exported to Canada and Mexico for slaughter. We ask everyone to contact your House Representative and both of your state Senators and ask them to cosponsor the SAFE Act H.R. 1661 and S. 775.
Harness Racing members that support the SAFE Act include The Meadowlands Racetrack, Dr. Patty Hogan, Richard Young, Joseph Ricco, Vernon Downs, Cheyenne Racing Stable, Deej Racing Stable, Enviro Stables, Trade Martin, Bob & Monica Bencal, Crawford Farms, Hunterton Farm, Dr. Nena Winand, David Siegel, Tioga Downs, Gordon Freeman, U.S. Harness Racing Alumni, Donny Dancer, Flo Brown and many others.
The Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act would expand the Dog and Cat Meat Prohibition Act passed in the 2018 Farm Bill to include equines, permanently protecting American horses from slaughter
