Dear Acupuncture Patients and Friends,
I hope you're surviving the lingering effects of a prolonged humid summer. Remember to keep rich sweet and fatty foods to a minimum when trying to correct the resulting Dampness. Eating lighter with lightly cooked vegetables. Exercise and encourage the body to perspire periodically. If you tend to be on the hotter side, cool yourself with appropriate foods and activity. If you're on the cooler side reach for some ginger and cinnamon and warm yourself up. This is TCM at its most basic.
Recently I listened the Botanical Biohacking podcast where all things TCM are discussed. For medical and acupuncture geeks the recent podcast was very interesting.
Click on the above link to learn more about this:
"We've really fine-tuned it...even if someone had a stroke and they lost their voice due to stroke or Parkinson's ... we can bring it back with one to two sessions of acupuncture..."
Acupuncture and Chinese medical Herbology are still under-used in this country. As conventional medicine and traditional Asian medicine continue to integrate, we will see more and more advances in this relatively inexpensive heatlhcare.
