NJ Attorney General Rules on Dry Needling by Physical Therapists
The attorney general ruled in favor of NJ acupuncturists and public safety by banning PTs from performing acupuncture with minimal training. PTs were trying to skirt the rigorous training we get in not only Clean Needle Technique, conventional Biomedicine, traditional Chinese medical theory and actual needling (2500 hours or so) but taking a couple of weekend courses. They attempted to rebrand acupuncture as Intramuscular Dry Needling and it almost worked. Even fully licensed MDs need a minimum of 300 hours to do acupuncture. Here is
an article in the NJ Patch discussing more fully.
And as always, come in and get some acupuncture for seasonal change as the shift into Spring can be challenging for many people.
In health,
Bill
