There's always more to learn!

Volume 37: May 8 2012

Dear ,

Dr. Sage and I are now driving back from the Age Management Medicine Group conference which took place in Hollywood, Florida.this last week.  It was an outstanding conference focusing on ways to not only reduce the risk of disease, but reverse it and live optimally with vitality.  I gave two lectures on Saturday to a full conference room of 700 despite it being 8am!  The first was “Revitalizing the libido for the peri-menopausal and menopausal woman”.  I was told this lecture was transformational.  I was really humbled because so many physicians came up to me after my lectures and wanted to enroll their patients in my WomensRestorativeHealth.com and SexualCPR.com workshops.    I was then on a panel with four brilliant and handsome physicians for case discussions.  It was really an honor to be on podium with Jeff Life, MD, Edwin Lee, MD, Jeffrey Raffaele, MD, and Neal Rouzier, MD.  These are brilliant pioneers in the field of age management and I always learn so much from them.  (Stay tuned for Dr. Life on the Dr. Phil show later in May)

AMMG Case Panel

We also hosted a booth for Mighty Maca. It was really great to meet and hear back from physicians who have been recommending it to their patients and taking it themselves!

Our Booth at the conference

Teresa Lemieux and Dr. Sage were amazing educators at the booth!  There always seemed to be an active Mighty Maca drinking crowd around. They were further supported by Robin Nielsen of ToGrowYoung.com who is a growing younger expert and dear friend and Marcus R. from OneTaste who was discussing the orgasmic meditation technique that we talk about in www.sexualcpr.com . I was further blessed to reconnect with so many of my dear friends and wonderful colleagues including Steven Masley, MD author of Ten Years Younger and my nurturing friend Michelle Alva who I will be having Couch Talk with on the 14th!  More on that later.

I am leaving fully inspired and ready to continue integrating the best of the science and evidence based knowledge for restoring health.  Of course I had to take a swim in the gorgeous refreshing Atlantic ocean this morning when the conference finished, I only wish I had changed my clothes because of the sand before hitting the road for a long drive back!

Wishing you a Vida Pura

VIDA PURA PEARLS

Did you know that CoQ10 absorption is decreased if you take it with other oils? Be sure to space it out from your omega supplements. : Also if you are on a statin (cholesterol) drug, you need to take CoQ10 .  Statins block CoQ10 absorption.  Even 10-20mg of a statin causes 38-54% decrease in serum levels of CoQ 10 in 3 months..  CoQ 10 absorption is also blocked by drugs called beta blockers which are often used for hypertension and heart problems, and the SSRI group of anti-depressants, and some oral blood sugar medications. Why should you care? CoQ10 is a cofactor in the production of ATP! That’s energy baby!  It is an oxygenator, fuels the cell, and good for youthful skin!  When it’s deficient, you can have fatigue, muscle aches, and even heart failure!

Product of the month:

If you would like to order CoQ 10, you can visit the THORNE website and use our patient express order code hcp1006759 to order.

Important to look for a high quality nutritional supplement that gets
absorbed.  Dr. Cabeca trusts: Qbest 50mg and 100mg by Thorne.
