Los Angeles, CA, May 1, 2012 - About Productions presents a world premiere multimedia theatrical event titled “Evangeline, the Queen of Make-Believe,” featuring the songbook of Louie Pérez and David Hidalgo of Los Lobos. This limited 4-week engagement will be at the Bootleg Theater (2220 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90057) starting May 3rd through May 27th.
"Evangeline, the Queen of Make Believe," finds a young Chicana’s neighborhood roots and make-believe world colliding unstoppably when she experiences the music and art of the Sunset Strip, Laurel Canyon, and La Cienega Boulevard. As she begins her journey to self-discovery, her East L.A. neighborhood explodes in the 1968 student walkouts and the fight for equal education and civil rights.
